Hana Lalani Reaches the Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Raising £2,697 for Visual Snow Syndrome Research

Home >

We’re proud to share that Hana Lalani has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro — the tallest mountain in Africa — to raise awareness and funds for Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS).

Inspired by her younger brother’s diagnosis, she dedicated her climb to advancing research, treatment, and education for those affected by VSS. Hana’s initial fundraising goal was £2,500, but she exceeded it, reaching £2,697 thanks to the generosity of friends, family, and supporters from around the world. These funds will directly support VSI’s mission to further research and strengthen global collaboration toward understanding and treating Visual Snow Syndrome.

Continuing a Family Effort

This achievement follows in the footsteps of Hana’s mother, Sheila Lalani, who in 2023 completed the Tough Mudder challenge and raised £4,000 for VSI. The Lalani family’s continued dedication has helped raise both awareness and vital support for individuals living with this complex neurological condition.

Thank You for Supporting the Climb

The Visual Snow Initiative extends its deepest gratitude to Hana, her family, and every person who contributed to her campaign. Efforts like these make a real difference — helping fund critical research and amplify awareness of Visual Snow Syndrome worldwide.
