The Visual Snow Initiative (VSI) and the AnCan Foundation have partnered to create the first video chat support group for individuals affected by Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS). This peer-moderated group offers a welcoming and safe space where people with VSS and their loved ones can connect face to face, share experiences, and support one another in a casual and friendly online environment.
The support group is designed to help individuals with VSS feel understood and less isolated by connecting them with others who share similar experiences. It also aims to foster meaningful connections, giving participants the opportunity to build friendships and share encouragement while navigating the challenges of VSS. Whether you are a person living with VSS or a loved one seeking understanding, advice, or simply someone who can relate, this space offers an opportunity to engage in open dialogue about life with VSS, learn from others on similar journeys, and give or receive emotional support.
VSS Selbsthilfe is a self-managed virtual support group for people in Germany living with Visual Snow Syndrome and their families.
They serve as a national point of contact, offering guidance on navigating the healthcare system and connecting individuals with doctors who are aware of VSS. They are also building strong international partnerships, including collaboration with the Visual Snow Initiative, to raise awareness and strengthen support for those affected.
They meet online every second Monday, providing a safe and supportive space to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others facing similar challenges.
If you are interested in joining their monthly meetings and be added to their private WhatsApp channel please email [email protected] to request access.
Every donation to the Visual Snow Initiative funds critical Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS) research. Your tax-deductible contribution drives global research efforts and creates a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by VSS.
