Meet our #Warrioroftheweek, Nelly Clark💙

Spotlight on: Nelly

Hey! My name is Nelly and I am 18 years old. I have the most amazing friends and family who support me in everything I do.

I have suffered with VS since I can remember. When I was younger, I never thought anything of it. It took me until i was around 15 to realise, not everyone else is seeing what I’m seeing. During the pandemic, my mental health took a massive decline and my VS worsened. Since then, I have episodes where it gets so bad I dissociate.

I have received a diagnosis for VS, but am still learning about it and how it works, and how it will affect me going forward. It is one of the scariest things I have battled, especially since most people cannot relate. However, my family, especially my mum is my absolute best friend, she helps me all day everyday and I take it one step at a time. I am trying to find peace in it! And not be afraid, as I can see the world in a much different way😊

My advice for dealing with VS is make sure you have a supportive network around you, whether it be a stranger on social media who you speak to occasionally or your best friend, or family. It takes the weight of your shoulders massively to know you are NOT alone in this scary situation, and that there is nothing wrong with you.
