Meet our #Warrioroftheweek, Derya Kozakbaş💙

Spotlight on: Derya

Hi everyone 🥰 I have had this condition for nearly 10 years, but nobody could understand me. I visited many doctors who didn’t comprehend what I meant when I said, “I see bright dots and shadows 24/7.” In the past year, I consulted seven doctors, including one neurologist, one rheumatologist, one neuro-ophthalmologist, and four ophthalmologists (two of whom were associate professors at a university).

They conducted visual field tests twice, VEP tests twice, corneal tomography, brain tomography, OCTA, FAF & FFA tests, and more. However, yesterday, when the doctor told me that I have Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS), I wanted to cry.

It was the first time I felt truly understood. I’m also grateful to have found this community, and I feel supported

😊 Thank you.
